How the Money Works
You decide what you want to earn per person. We add our OpenClass platform fee on top — so you always receive exactly what you asked for. Here's what that looks like in real life.

Single 3-Hour Workshop
10 participants · one session
For 3 hours of teaching. That's $116/hr.

6-Week Series
8 participants · 2 hrs/week · 6 weeks
That's $160/week — or $80/hr.
How Do You Decide What to Charge?
Research similar classes. Check what yoga studios, cooking schools, or tutors charge in your area for comparable sessions.
Factor in your experience. A 20-year professional can charge more than someone just starting to teach. Both are welcome — price accordingly.
Consider your costs. If you're renting a space, factor that in. If your venue is free, you keep more.
Start a little lower, grow from there. Building reviews and a following early means you can raise your price as your reputation grows.
Payments are deposited directly to your bank via Stripe.
Year-end tax documents are handled automatically.

General Liability Insurance

Background Check
$30 one time — required for all instructors.

Your Teaching Space
You provide your own venue — a coffee shop, studio, community center, library meeting room, or anywhere that works for your class. Many Memphis spaces are free or very affordable.
