For Parents Registering Minors (additional):

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• With teachers: When you register for a class, your name and contact information is shared with your teacher so they can communicate with you about the class.
• With students: When a student registers for your class, their name and contact information is shared with you as the teacher.
• With Stripe: Payment information is processed by Stripe. Their privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
• With Checkr: Background check results for teachers of minors are received directly from Checkr and stored securely by OpenClass.
• For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our community.
• Business transfers: If OpenClass is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Protection of Minor Information

We take extra precautions with information about minors:

• OpenClass does not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. All registrations for minors must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
• Vehicle information and driver's license numbers collected for 16-17 year old students are used solely for safety and transportation verification purposes.
• Minor student information is never shared with third parties except as required by law or for the direct safety of the child.
• Background check results are stored securely and accessed only by authorized OpenClass staff.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information including encrypted data transmission (SSL), secure password storage, and limited staff access to personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. 7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Teacher identity documents and background check results are retained for a minimum of 3 years after a teacher's last active class. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing openclassfun@gmail.com. Some information may be retained longer if required by law.

OpenClass uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how our platform is used. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function properly without them.
